Compact Inovance servo & CNC technology enhances high performance French micromachine

Inovance supplies OEM with compact products for 5-axis micro machine. | High-spec machine weighs in at just 120 kg, without compromising on performance. | Saves on weight, size, electrical input, convenience, financials and carbon footprint.

Stuttgart, Germany, 14.01.26 – French machinery manufacturer S3DEL has used  technology from global industrial automation specialist Inovance to create a high performance 5-axis micro machine. Providing the same technologies and functionalities as machines used in heavy duty industry, S3DEL’s new micro machine weighs in at just 120 kg and incorporates servo drives, motors, and other components from Inovance.

S3DEL supplies micro machines and equipment to a range of sectors – from jewellery making to the dental industry – specialising in tailor-made solutions. The company was looking for a partner that could supply compact technology to reduce the size and weight of its machines without compromising on performance.

Local service and compact performance products from Inovance

The French OEM selected Inovance because of the strong on-the-ground technical and engineering support it provides in France. The Inovance products, chosen by S3DEL for their efficiency, precision and speed of motion control, were supplied quickly. Another key factor was the communication and ISO code interfaces incorporated by Inovance.

Inovance solutions used in the micromachine include the rugged, lightweight PA9000 ultra-compact EtherCAT CNC controller, offering real five axis technology (RTCP). In addition, S3DEL incorporated the compact, high performance SV660N servo drive, the MS1 servo motor, with high dynamic range, the MD200 AC compact, high frequency open-loop drive, and a range of other more peripheral products, such as I/O modules and line filters.

Smaller, lighter micromachine maintains performance and generates savings

Not only is the state-of-the-art S3DEL micromachine lighter in weight, but it is also considerably smaller, and runs on 220v instead of 440v. As well as a reduced size, weight, and input requirement, the micromachine is now much easier to move and manipulate. Beyond delivering financial savings, the device also has a reduced carbon footprint and the complex project was delivered within a tight timescale. S3DEL highlights the strong collaboration with Inovance’s engineers as a pivotal factor in meeting its challenging installation and commissioning deadlines.

Damien Chambrey, Managing Director at S3DEL, says,“The collaboration with the engineering team at Inovance was a major factor in the success of the project. Each person involved put in 200% effort. We are pleased with the outcome, and we will definitely consider working with Inovance on future projects.”

Cedric Pujols, Country Manager at Inovance Technology France, adds,“We thoroughly enjoyed working with S3DEL on this exciting project. We were impressed that the company takes more than just the bottom line into account – they have a major commitment to also cutting carbon emissions. We very much hope to continue working with S3DEL in the future.”
